About

Sylvietta

**Bio**

Sylvietta is an Italian-British artist based in London, who studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. Her versatile style embraces various techniques, continuously evolving with the medium she employs. This chameleonic approach defines her artistic journey. Sylvietta lives with the same philosophy she applies to her art: a radical openness to experimentation, transforming blank canvases into works of beauty.

Paintings

"I like to add an element of disruption in my paintings, something that alter my work and create something new an element of chaos that transforms like: pouring water, random scratches, corroding the paint with turpentine or spilling salt and spices are some of the ways to let my creations to be overtaken by the events and the results is not totally in my power, but working in Harmony with these changes to create something new."

Capturing imagines of City life first on cameras then transporting on canvas, is often the beginning of the creative process.

Although the final result is tending towards the abstract, I always start from a figurative urban landscape painting.

Collage

Collage drawings started not long time ago, I was inspired by Lee Krasner American painter and how the collage came into her work through a moment of enlightenment, giving life and creating something new by using something old.

I feel very much about this method it consents me to express myself using everything I’m surrounded by and inspired by and gives new meaning to static drawing, exploring possibilities of textures and going beyond spaces.

At the end of the day, a collage can be an infinite work of art, you can add more pieces of paper or figures and go beyond the limit of the piece of paper again and again.

I get inspiration from people, faces, bodies, and lines that get simplified, cut out and reassembled to create new stories and new identities.

Sylvietta is also part of the #draweachoter art group, a global open community of artists that draw each other’s portraits that in London and now is spread all over the world, her artworks are being sold in London and around the world.
